This week at The Junia Project we looked at how the process of bible translation impacts our corporate and personal theology of women in Lost in Translation Part 1: Phoebe, Servant or Minister? (This coming week Bob takes on 1 Timothy 2 in Lost in Translation Part 2.)
We also discussed practical things pastors can do to bring about gender equity in their churches, 5 Things I Wish Male, Egalitarian Pastors Would Do, continuing the discussion with More Things We Wish Male Egalitarian Pastors Would Do. (Watch for an upcoming post on the importance of having women on church boards.)
The week ended with a personal story that included some very good reasons why the soft complementarian approach to gender equality just doesn’t work in No Middle Ground for Women in the Church.
So the question is, what will YOU do this week to help the seesaw tilt towards the side of gender equality and justice?
