Happy Summer to you all! Those who have been a part of the Junia community for a while might remember that Summer means the return of “Summer Links” where we share our favorite blog posts, events, resources, and podcasts from the egalitarian world each week.
Today I want to share a few of my favorite things from the past week. I hope you find them as enjoyable as I have!
This Week’s Highlights:
“Now I know that God has given me my own unique voice,” Deb says. “I tell others who question their leadership: ‘Look at your life, look at the fruit, and let that speak for itself.’”
“When I disagree with a theological argument, I don’t usually use strong words. I usually say ‘I disagree with that’ or ‘that’s not my interpretation’ but I’m going to use stronger words here. The suggestion that Genesis 1 & 2 presents Adam in some sense over Eve, and that male headship is part of the created order and design of God, is absolute malarky.
3. The Women’s World Cup! I grew up playing soccer and I absolutely love watching these world-class athletes play! I am also a big fan of the US National Team’s social media campaign #SheBelieves! Way to go USWNT!
“You, with your cleats on and a ball at your feet.
You, with your nose in a book and a dream in your head.
You, with your hand in the air asking question after question after question.
Listen up, ladies: we believe in you.”
4. Fellow blogger Tim Fall has been on an absolute roll over the last few weeks! His words have been a balm on my own heart, and have made me giggle a bit as well. Thank you my friend for your ardent work! Check out these posts for a taste of Tim’s writing as of late:
