Hi everyone! I was invited to speak at George Fox University‘s chapel at the beginning of April, and I wanted to share the 20 minute video with you all. It was a fun trip, filled with lots of opportunities to speak God’s truth for women!
Here’s a little excerpt:
I have heard the sermons that say that men lead and women follow, that men teach and women listen, that men can take up space in any area of church be it pulpit, worship team, elder board, but that women must shrink into the background, shrink into the pews, shrink into a ministry fit for children.
And this matters! Our words matter. Because, women, we have grown up in a church culture where our worth and dignity are openly debated because they are not a given. But women, your worth and dignity are not determined by how well you fit into someone’s view of biblical womanhood!”
A special thank you to George Fox chaplains Jamie Johnson & Jamie Noling-Auth for hosting me. You two are so great! Thanks also to Harriet Reed Congdon for coming and giving me a tour of Portland, and to Cayla Pruett for letting me stay with you! Harriet and Cayla have both written posts for The Junia Project and it was great to connect with them in person.
I hope you enjoy the video 🙂
